HOW TO SET UP AN EYE CLINIC ANYWHERE

Here in the USA, the Lions Clubs' major project is collecting used eyeglasses and sending eye doctors on missions.

To obtain a large bulk supply or pallet of recycled eyeglasses for an approved medical or humanitarian mission, contact an official Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (LERC) directly.   They are located in Australia, North America, Europe, and South Africa.   "https://www.lionsclubs.org/en/resources-for-members/resource-center/eyeglass-recycling-centers"

We have never used these EYENETRA.com devices (shown below), so we cannot attest to how well they work.   The idea is you can create an eye clinic with these tools if you can arrange to obtain used eyeglasses from Lions.  One device reads the prescriptions of eyeglasses, and provides the info to an iPhone.   The other device performs an eye exam, and provides the prescription info to the iPhone.   Then the iPhone matches your patient with the eyeglasses in your inventory.   If it works, good people like you, can duplicate it in 1,000 other places, providing occupations for many and bringing all-important vision to many, many more.

PS   VOLUNTEERING WITH THE LIONS.  One of the members of our club,  Doctor Rob Fox, has gone on several Lions missions to Mexico for a week of eye exams.  Other volunteers match the patients with the used eyeglasses.

PPS   ROTARY DISTRICT GRANTS   Niskayuna Rotary is using this year's (2026-2027) Rotary District grant (a $2500 match, $5000 total) to pay for shipping eight or nine pallets of used eyeglasses collected by the Lions clubs, measured by the Lions clubs; and sorted &  organized by the Lions clubs.  The Lions do this as a free service.  The pallets are being shipped to Haiti.  (See the Haiti Eye Clinic tab here on this website,  https://www.niskyrotary.com/haiti-eye-clinic.
